  • Ability to use precision measuring devices – ID/OD mics, depth mics, dial indicators for runout checks
  • Basic knowledge of bearings and experience with mounting bearings on shafts.
  • Able to understand basic electronic functionality and use electronic equipment – Multimeter (Fluke) for testing devices such as motor leads, temperature protection (thermistor, thermocouples), encoders, proximity switches.
  • Soldering of electrical connectors – reading electrical schematics and testing/pinning out plugs

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

  • Perform precision assembly work primarily consisting of grease packed and air-oil lubricated spindles.
  • Ability to tear down and prep SETCO and non-SETCO products including evaluations and write-ups.
  • Balance shafts, prep components for assembly, install motor rotors & stators.
  • Ability to operate lathe and other small machines (mill and surface grinder) to facilitate the preparation of parts for the assembly of spindles.
