    Our Spindle Repair Process

The Setco repair process begins with a thorough inspection and diagnosis to determine the cause of the spindle issue. We’ll disassemble, clean, and evaluate each component and repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning parts. We’ll then reassemble, precision balance, and test the spindle to ensure optimal performance and adherence to manufacturer specifications. We also provide documentation and certification to instill confidence and peace of mind.

Our advanced equipment allows us to get to the root cause of spindle failure. After disassembling and cleaning each part, we’ll evaluate the spindle’s performance to determine the reason for failure and find a repair solution.

We are intimately familiar with spindle components of more than 350 brands, including Heald machine spindles. We’ll examine the caps, spacers, bushings, bore, bearing journals, and other critical parts, looking for damage or signs of wear to ensure each part fits and meets OEM specifications.

We finalize a firm price for our services only after we identify any issues with the spindle. This quote is free and without obligation. Once we receive approval, we’ll move forward with the repair or rebuild.

Parts are either replaced or reconditioned to OEM standards to ensure like-new spindle performance. We have an extensive network of suppliers who provide the parts we need. If these components are unavailable, we have the engineering capabilities to produce them. Our key processes and repairs include:

    • Housing and shaft work
    • Bearing and seal replacement
    • Replacing drawbar springs and seals
    • Checking components for balance
    • Checking electrical parts

Once all parts are reassembled, it’s time to test the spindle under controlled conditions until thermally stabilized. Testing and precision balancing reduce vibrations and ensure the spindle operates at like-new performance levels. We store all our testing data via serial numbers for future reference.

Once the spindle is returned, manufacturing operations can have peace of mind knowing it’s safe for use in their Heald machining tool. We back our services with a written warranty and full documentation so that operations can understand what caused the issue and how to avoid future problems.
